Opening birthday presents

Except for one special present from Nana and Grandpa, a Cinderella doll which Meg opened before her party, Meg waited until after her party to open her presents. She was so funny tearing into each one - she felt so special! Nana and Grandpa and the Eisenhauers stayed to watch, and Meg and Ella couldn't resist trying out Ella's present to her - a princess sleeping bag.

Meg's Prince Charming

Meg only invited her girl friends to her birthday party. The one exception was Jetson, her "Prince Charming." Jetson's sisters made him this cute shirt for the party; it reads "my heart belongs to Meg." We love Jetson!

Meg's birthday party

We celebrated Meg's birthday with a princess party on the most perfect January day ever (sunny and 75 degrees). The girls decorated crowns, had their fingernails painted by Jane Gray, Liddy, Sayley, and Genevieve, played dress up, jumped on the jumpyland, rode Mo Glo, decorated and ate pink cupcakes, and got candy and toys from a princess castle pinata. Meg had so much fun!

Duck hunting with Daddy

Jane Gray and Charlie joined Pop, Uncle Will and Daddy for the last hunt of the season at Charlie's Duck Stand. There were some ducks flying around, but they didn't really cooperate. Pop once again supplied the heater and the cookies for breakfast (Chips Ahoy this time). Jane Gray and Charlie worked on their duck calling skills for a while, and later they got to pull the trigger bagging a teal each. After the hunt, Charlie was thoroughly thrilled when Uncle Will gave him a duck wing and foot to take home - thanks a lot, Uncle Will. Though the number of ducks taken was slim, we had another great time in Louise.

Chick-fil-a dinner and birthday presents

Meg got to pick where she wanted to eat for her birthday, and she picked Chick-fil-a! After dinner, we came home and gave Meg her presents. She was especially smitten by her new pillow pet. She loves it! For dessert, we ate brownies instead of cake because that was what Meg wanted. Mommy hopes Meg is always so easy to please!

Afternoon at the zoo

We asked Meg how she wanted to spend her birthday, and she said, "the zoo!" So, after FPDS carpool, we met Daddy at the zoo. As you can tell by the picture, Meg was thrilled to see her Daddy. There were not many people at the zoo, so we pretty much had the run of the place. It was a great way to spend a birthday!

Birthday cupcake

Meg's teachers gave her a birthday cupcake. She loved it!

Happy birthday, Meg!

Meg turned three today, and she is so happy about it! We celebrated this morning with doughnuts, Meg's favorite. When she got out of the car this morning at school, she said, "It's my birthday!" Happy birthday, Meg!

Cousin Jay sent us this picture of the cousins at Mary Clinton's breakfast-pajama party. Fun was had by all.
