Thunder's first spring AA tournament

The Thunder played in the All Star league last summer, but this weekend, they decided to play in a AA baseball tournament in Brandon.  Because they had never played AA baseball, they were seeded low and had to play some very tough teams.  They went 2-2 on the weekend, losing to the two tournament finalists.  They played so well and had a lot of fun!  One of our favorite memories happened in the last inning of the third game - Charlie made the final out at first base to seal the victory, and his buddies dog-piled on him.  Charlie loved it!

Meg's soccer team

Meg's soccer team went undefeated!  They were rewarded with trophies after today's final game.

Long day at school

Not even the excitement of their good report cards could keep these two awake!

Ole Miss basketball game

This wild crew came over for burgers and the Ole Miss basketball game.

More horse riding

We went back to Martin Farm this afternoon.  Charlie was at the Cottens' lake house with Wilson, so it was just the girls today.

Lunch and a movie with Nana and Grandpa

Nana and Grandpa took us out for lunch at Soulshine Pizza, then to Malco to see the movie, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and then to Menchie's for yogurt.  It was a fun day!

Martin Farm

Donogram is being trained at Martin Farm, so we went there this afternoon for a visit.  Mr. Don let Jane Gray ride one of his horses, and he rode Donogram.  Jane Gray rode very well!  Charlie and Meg took turns riding, too.  Meg loved it, but Charlie preferred playing with the various dogs, cats, goats, and rabbits.  He did, however, love riding the miniature horses.  They all did!

Sunday baseball game

We met the Browns at the Sunday afternoon baseball game.  We sat with them and the Atkinsons and had a wonderful time!  Ole Miss won, and the children got to run the bases after the game.  Charlie and Daddy also played a little catch before we headed back to the condo.

Tennis tournament

The Waddells invited us to go with them to the Ole Miss-Georgia women's tennis matches.  One of their family friends is on the Ole Miss women's tennis team, so we watched her match.  She did really well!  The girls loved watching her, but their favorite part of the tennis matches was the ice cream sundae party between doubles and singles matches.

Saturday baseball game

We went to the baseball game, too.  Ole Miss beat Arkansas-Little Rock.  We stayed after the game to meet the baseball players.  Will Allen is Charlie's favorite, and Will spent a long time talking to Charlie about Ole Miss and baseball.  After the game, we ate dinner with the Hursts and Moaks.  It took a while before our table was ready at Boure, so we played on the Square with William Faulkner.

Basketball game

Nana and Grandpa went to the Ole Miss-Vanderbilt basketball game with us.  It was a close, exciting game which Ole Miss won in the end!  After the game, we waited around for the basketball players and got to meet Jarvis Summers and Marshall Henderson.  Marshall signed our tickets and Charlie's T-shirt.  Charlie promised to never wash it!
