Mardi Gras fun

Pop brought us this very delicious King cake from New Orleans!  We hid the baby several times, and happily, each child got a turn to find it.  We love a King cake!

Soccer games

Nana and Grandpa are finally home from their cruise to Antarctica!  We got to see them this morning at Charlie and Meg's soccer games.  The children were so glad they were there that Charlie scored the game-winning goal in his game, and Meg scored TEN goals in her game!

Yazoo City fun

Since our soccer games were canceled, we played in Yazoo City this afternoon.  We fished, hiked, and rode Donogram.  It was a fun day!

Charlie's last basketball game

Charlie's last basketball game was this morning.  They played a great team, with a really good player whose brother is the top-ranked basketball player his age!  Charlie guarded him, and he did really well!  He did get several fouls, but he also got what Coach Maddux called the first called charge in Upward basketball history!  It was an intense, but fun, game!

Sticky Notes and Bible Quotes

The second grade play was today.  Charlie played the part of Josh, a.k.a. "the Nerd," the four-eyed "loser" who got cut from the baseball team.  It was a big part, and Charlie played it very well!  He got lots of laughs and was the cutest nerd ever!

Valentine's Day party at the Fairs' house

Sweet Bette invited the children over to her house this afternoon to bake Valentine's Day cookies and decorate gingerbread Valentine houses.  Charlie decided that that sounded a little too girly for him, but the girls loved it!

Rodeo

We went to the rodeo today and had a blast!  Charlie missed the first part because he had a soccer game, but he arrived just in time for the bull riding, his favorite!  The girls loved the barrel racing, and we all enjoyed the popcorn and cotton candy!  After the rodeo, we went to the barns to look at all of the livestock.  Jane Gray, of course, gravitated to the horses, and Charlie, taking after his Daddy, the "Natural," loved the pigs.
