Trip to Oxford

After soccer and basketball games in the morning, we took off to Oxford for some baseball, basketball, shopping and eating.  It was mighty cool at the baseball game, but the Rebel wins helped out.

Charlie and Grizzlies

Charlie finished off a good season with the Grizzlies with a redemptive win over a team they lost to earlier in the season.  Charlie lead the way at point guard and had a good season.  Dad enjoyed the semi-laid-back style of being the assistant coach.

Lady Cavs' last game and party

The Lady Cavs ended a great season with a big victory over a 4th grade team!  They played so hard this year and finished with a 5-1 record with the sole loss coming to a 5th/6th grade team that they had already beaten.  Meg missed that game, so she claims a 5-0 season.  Ha!  One thing is for sure - she had the BEST coach!  After their game today, they celebrated with pizza and watched this funny entertainer.  It was a fun season with a very fun and sweet group of girls (plus Ebbie)! Dancing with the Stars - New Orleans

We had the BEST time in Nola this weekend!  We drove down Saturday and made a pit stop in Manchac at Middendorf's before we arrived at the Roosevelt Hotel, where we were staying with the Moak girls.  We checked into the hotel and then ventured to Canal Street and a cable car ride and window shopping.  We ate an early dinner at Domenica and then headed to the Saenger Theater.  The show was wonderful, but we didn't want the night to end, so we had a late night pancake snack at the IHOP on Canal.  Sunday morning, we ate breakfast at Cafe Beignet and then went shopping on Magazine Street (Lush was a hit - we went to both stores!).  The weather was gorgeous, and we had so much fun together!  We ended the trip with a yummy gelato at Sucre.

Meg's birthday party at Deep South Pops

Meg celebrated her 9th birthday at Deep South Pops.  Her friends and she made popsicle stick crafts (bookmarks and bracelets), ate popsicles, and celebrated with popsicle cupcakes.  Big sister helped entertain the girls with a rousing game of Hot Cupcake.
