Easter in Yazoo City

We celebrated Easter early with the Barbours in Yazoo City. We cooked out hot dogs and hamburgers and ate all of our yummy Easter cookies. It was a beautiful day, and we fished, canoed, kayaked, and hung out at the pond all day.

Easter cookies

The Hurst girls are staying with us this weekend, and they were a big help with the Easter bunny cookies we made for our Easter gathering in Yazoo City. We set up an assembly line and had a ball baking together.

Meg's late night

We were out late at the Rutledges' house. The kids played a little on the computer before heading to bed. Meg was exhausted, but she didn't want to miss out on anything, so this is how she fell asleep.

Western Day

Charlie's class has been studying the letter "w" this week, so they celebrated "W"estern Day today. After school, several of the cowboys met at Newk's for some grub.

Soccer party

Charlie's soccer team had an end-of-the-year party and trophy presentation at Chick-fil-a. The team had a great season - they were undefeated! Way to go T-Rexes and Coach Barbour!

Easter happies

Nana and Grandpa are going to be in Nashville this Easter, so they brought the children some Easter happies before their trip. Thanks, Nana and Grandpa!

Tickle bed

Daddy has been out of town on business for several days, and we have missed him! Shortly after he arrived home, the children yelled "tickle bed," and ran to our bedroom. They love it when their Daddy tickles them.

Harry Potter fan

Charlie is a huge Harry Potter fan. He wrote about Harry's "w"and and the Expecto Patronum charm. Kindergarten spelling is so cute!

Birthday notes

As soon as March arrived, Jane Gray placed birthday notes to Mommy throughout the house. She is definitely an encourager! Charlie and Meg also made some sweet birthday cards for Mommy.

Happy birthday, Mommy!

Happy Birthday to the best Mommy in the world! What a fun and beautiful day to celebrate (it's actually become "Laurch" as someone likes to celebrate their birth month and not just birth day). Mommy had a wonderful birthday! The day started with Charlie's last soccer games, some birthday shopping, bike riding at the Dog Park, and concluded with a steak dinner. Happy birthday again, and we love our Mommy.

Fun night with friends

We went out to eat Mexican with the Mileys and Adams. We had a room all to ourselves, and the kids loved it!

Ole Miss baseball

We met the Adams in Oxford for the Ole Miss-Auburn baseball game. We ran into lots of our friends and even had a nice visit with Pop. The kids also met several baseball players, and Charlie got their signatures on his baseball. After the game, Charlie took a picture with Senquez Golson, one of our favorite players. Before heading home, we ate an early dinner at Proud Larry's and then played in the Circle. The kids climbed magnolia trees and chased squirrels. It was a fun day!

Spring Break staycation

Our hardworking Daddy worked this week, so we enjoyed a Spring Break staycation. We have had some much-needed family time, and we have also had fun with our friends, too. It has been a full week - a movie (the Lorax) and spend-the-night party with Nana and Grandpa, ice cream with cousins (Liz Fair), a neighborhood cookout at the Greggs' house, a boys' day of exploring and arrowhead finding with Streety Minor and cousins (Luke and Jack), a game night with the Rutledges, and day trips to Yazoo City and Oxford with friends.

Curious George exhibit

We met the Hollowells at the Mississippi Museum of Art. We all loved the Curious George exhibit, but the children really enjoyed playing in the splash pad. It was a hot day!

Zoo

We never tire of the zoo! For the first time, we enjoyed the petting zoo, especially the goats and potbelly pigs. We also loved running into Belle Grace, one of Jane Gray's friends.
