Charlie's best friend

Lewis Knotts is Charlie's newest best friend. Charlie drew a picture at school of the two of them playing football together (which they do in our yard almost every day after school).

Daddy's quail hunt

Daddy and Mommy went to Shenandoah Plantation for a quail hunting weekend. The kids were well cared for while we were gone, but somehow Meg left Snowy behind at the Hursts' house. Meg was so cute when she was finally reunited with her buddy.

Charlie's first lost tooth

Charlie lost his first tooth tonight. He's been working hard on it, and tonight Jane Gray told him to just get it over with and pull it. He took her advice and got it out on the first pull. He was so excited!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Nana and Grandpa spoiled the children again this Valentine's Day. In the top picture, Meg is coloring her Valentine's card from Nana and Grandpa. The children also had their Valentine's Day parties today and came home with a lot of loot! It's been a fun Valentine's Day!

Mommy's favorite things

These are a few of Mommy's favorite things - homemade (or in this case, school-made) Valentine's Day cards. Charlie and Meg brought home some precious Valentine's Day cards this year.

The Cottens invited the neighborhood children over to decorate Valentines and eat lots of yummy candy and cupcakes. Meg was at ballet for most of the party and found the cupcakes as soon as she arrived!

Rodeo

The Rodeo was a hit! Meg found Pop's lap and never left it. Pop and Meg were so cute sharing peanuts. Mary Stewart said that Rodeo food is the best, and we agree! Charlie loved the bullriding, and the girls enjoyed meeting the Rodeo princesses. George Jones performed this year, and he was so great! After the Rodeo, we went to Cock of the Walk and ate lots and lots of yummy catfish. It was a fun day!

Pre-Rodeo picture

The children dressed up in their Rodeo gear, including belt buckles won by their Daddy. Aren't they cute?

Rabbit hunting

Daddy took Charlie rabbit hunting in Louise. It was one of the coldest hunts Daddy had ever been on - lower 30's with a constant 20 mph wind. Kirk and Whit Anderson joined us along with Uncle Will's father-in-law's clan from Natchez. It was an interestingly fun afternoon hunt before the cold started taking its toll on folks.

Project Juembo

The ABC Christian Academy in Malawi, Africa, collects backpacks filled with all sorts of school supplies for students in surrounding village schools. FPDS joined in on their Project Juembo, and sweet Jane Gray insisted we participate. It was so fun to go shopping together for the project, and it was very special to see Jane Gray's heart for these students. We are blessed!

Lunch date

One of Mommy's oldest friends came over for lunch today and brought her daughter, Kate, with her. Kate and Meg were in the same class at Meadowbrook preschool, and they were such sweet friends! The girls were so cute giggling down the stairs, Mommy couldn't resist taking a picture of them.

Pop's birthday lunch in Yazoo City

After church, we drove to Yazoo City to celebrate Pop's birthday. Here is a very tired Meg clutching a red clover picked by her Daddy:

And here is Meg on the way home - face covered in Oreo chocolate and clutching jonquils from Pop's yard:

Daddy took Jane Gray and Charlie to the pig show this afternoon.

Brent's

After Charlie and Jane Gray's basketball games, we celebrated Jane Gray's Bach Festival performance with lunch at Brent's. Daddy and Meg shared a vanilla milkshake.
