Order of the Arrow
Charlie was received admission into the Order of the Arrow with Boy Scouts tonight. OA is recognizes Scouts who "best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives" and is a great honor for Charlie to make. Unfortunately, the campout where he would have received it was rained out, so they improvised. (Ed Barron made it as well.)
Hattiesburg Soccer Tournament
Meg's team played in a rain-soaked Hattiesburg this weekend and came away with second place behind an older team. It was a good showing, and Meg played well and had fun.

Charlie received his Life ranking advancement today (although he recently made it to Life) along with several other merit badges. He also, as Assistant Troop Leader, spoke from the podium and introduced all of the scouts that earned merit badges. To top things off, he was able to meet Congressman Harper.

First Quail Hunt
Charlie and Pop received a quail hunt at Cameron's Plantation for Christmas, and it turned out to be so much fun. Charlie's favorite part may have been the fried quail for lunch. Once Charlie figured out what the birds would do on the flush, he had a blast. He was able to shoot his new shotgun, Granddaddy Rickey's shotgun and the side-by-side Pop has promised him. Dad even got to shoot a few birds between taking pictures. It was a great time for the three generations to be together amidst the birds, dogs, rain, and near-runaway horses.

The boys were fired up for a second round of Cotillion. While Mom and Dad were chaperoning, a few pictures were able to be taken of the fun.
