Halloween

 

It was a change of Halloween pace for us this year with kids being old.  A crew of Charlie's buddies met up here for pizza and firepit before walking to the Merhles' (via the River) where they were all exposed to Covid.  Meg and her crew had a blast.  Jane Gray (recovering from her Covid exposure quarantine) ended up with her friends at a concert at the District.

Junior High Football Banquet

Charlie and his team celebrated their undefeated (7-0) junior high football season with their banquet tonight.  Charlie gave a thank you presentation to Coach Heavner.  It was a great end to a great season.

Meg and Dallas

 

Meg got to spend a little time with Jane Gray and Dallas after school while playing tagalong with big sister today.

Folsom, LA Horse Show

Folsom is one of the showing people's favorite shows, and this was Jane Gray's first time there.  Mom and Dad literally drove up to JG nodding at them from the ring in her class - in which she went on to win the blue ribbon.  Jane Gray had a great show with several first places and a second in a really large show.  

Cross Country State Meet

What a great way to spend a day - watching others run.  Meg had a fantastic race finishing second place in the State overall junior high cross country meet.  The best part was that she was way behind in third place and made a fantastic finish in last quarter mile to pass the girl in front of her.  She then had a little lunch and even got to go by the Governor's Mansion.

Despite the game's outcome, Jane Gray and friends always have a good time.

Offensive Linemen Steak Dinner

 

Laura told the offensive linemen several weeks back that if they didn't give up any sacks, she would give them a steak dinner.  Well, they did not completely succeed at that, but they did keep Charlie safe during the season, so we paid up anyway.  It was a great night with a great group of linemen.

Prep Beats JA for Perfect Season

Charlie and the team played a great game and beat JA (a little closer score than the game actually was).  It was a great finish to a great year for Charlie and his 9th grade football team.  Undefeated at 7-0 and Conference Champions!
