Fair 2009

Tonight, we braved the cold and went to the fair. Liddy came with us. We started with the rides. Jane Gray said her favorite this year was the one that went up and down (one with Liddy and Charlie on each side of her); Charlie's favorite was the flying one (one with Daddy's legs hanging off). Meg's rode the Bumblebees and the ferris wheel. She loved it! When she wasn't riding the rides, Meg enjoyed watching the others; she would clap and say "yay!" After the rides, we went to the petting zoo. The big kids loved petting all of the animals. Meg liked to wave to them and "baa" at the sheep. After the zoo, we headed to Circus Maximus. We sat right underneath the highwire act - it was amazing! The performers were formerly with the Ringling Brothers Circus, so they were really good. By the time the circus was over, it had gotten very cold, so we grabbed some free biscuits, ran through the zookeepers' tent (where the kids got to hold a baby alligator) and headed to Chick-fil-a for a warm dinner.

"Let go!"

One of Meg's favorite phrases is "let go!" (She also loves to say "I do it.") Meg grabs her purses and heads for the door. She is always ready to GO!

Waiting for big sister

Charlie loves to climb this tree while we are waiting for Jane Gray to get out of school. Charlie is such a good climber, and his little sister follows him everywhere!

Precious hands

Daddy loves our children's little hands. So, for Christmas, we decided to give him a plate with all three children's handprints on it for Christmas. Mary Ball's mother made it for us, and we love it. We know Daddy will, too!

Meg's stuffed animals

Meg likes to sleep with all of her stuffed animals. She talks to them, laughs with them, and cuddles with them at night. Her favorite is Snowman.

Groving

We groved in the Circle for the Alabama game with some of our friends from college - Andy Garner, Gray Montgomery, Wes and Marion Curry, Mike and Sarah Atkinson, Woody McClendon, Keith Yarrow, John Scanlon, and Jay Rodgers. It was so fun to see everyone! It was a cold, rainy day, and the Rebels lost, but we had a great time anyway!

Protective big brother

Meg's big brother is very protective of her! Today, at Will Upton's birthday party, Meg tried to get on the jumpylands with the big kids, but she kept getting trampled and pushed around. Charlie came to her rescue several times and, when a friend of his said girls weren't allowed in their boy clubhouse, Charlie said, "except for my Mommy and sister!" Thanks, Charlie!
