Trimming the Christmas tree

This afternoon, after church, we decorated our Christmas tree. Jane Gray and Charlie loved putting the ornaments on the tree, and they took great pride in putting up the ornaments with their names on them. After we trimmed the tree, we ate dinner and made some Christmas cookies for dessert. The kids went heavy on the sprinkles, but the cookies turned out really cute, and they tasted good, too! Daddy ate his with eggnog. It was quite the festive day!

Christmas tree hunt in Louise

Daddy, Pop, Uncle Will, and Uncle Paul went duck hunting this morning in Louise. We met up with them later in the morning to pick out our Christmas trees. The trees are beautiful, and they smell very Christmasy, but they are huge! Daddy has had to trim ours a lot! We think it turned out to be a wonderful Christmas tree, and we had a lot of fun picking it out in Louise with our Barbour family.

Early Christmas gift

Since the Eisenhauers are heading home to Charlotte tomorrow, Nana and Grandpa decided to give the babies an early Christmas gift - their teddy bears. Every baby in the family has received one. Ella and Meg's teddy bears are wearing Ole Miss T-shirts, and the girls thought they were mighty cute! We also took Nana and Grandpa's Christmas card picture tonight. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. . . .

Egg Bowl

We watched the Egg Bowl at Nana and Grandpa's house, and it was a slaughter - 45-0 Ole Miss over MSU. The babies loved every minute of it and were so cute in their Ole Miss cheerleader uniforms!

Thanksgiving Day

Today was Meg's first Thanksgiving Day. We went to church and then headed to Nana and Grandpa's for lunch with Nana and Grandpa, the Eisenhauers, and the Gibsons. After lunch, we hopped back in the car and drove to Yazoo City for another lunch with Pop and the Hursts. We were stuffed after two Thanksgiving feasts! After playing for a while in Yazoo City, we drove back to Nana and Grandpa's for dessert and a visit with the Eisenhauers. We're pooped, but it was a very fun-filled Thanksgiving Day!

Ella and Meg with Santa

Meg and Ella visited Santa Claus today. It was the first time they had met Santa, and they were not very happy about it!

Cock of the walk with the Eisenhauers

As is the tradition when my sister is in town, we went to Cock of the walk to eat catfish. It was delicious - so delicious that we had to order more catfish! After dinner, we fed the ducks the few leftovers we had.

Monday night football

The Saints are playing the Packers tonight. For the past several days, Charlie has been wearing the Saints jersey that Richard Baird gave him. He is pumped! Go Saints!

Aunt Stacy, Uncle Tony, and Ella

The Eisenhauers are in town for Thanksgiving. They dropped by this afternoon to check on Jane Gray and see everyone. Ella and Meg weren't so sure about each other at first, but Charlie and Ella hit it off right away. He thought she was so cute!

Jane Gray's toe surgery

My brave little girl had surgery on her toe this morning. The tendon on the middle toe of the left foot was too tight, so Dr. Purvis had to cut it so that the toe would straighten out. Jane Gray was such a trooper! She took all of her medicine sweetly and woke up from surgery with a smile on her face. All of the nurses were impressed! Nana kept Charlie and Meg for us, so she was waiting on Jane Gray when she got home from the hospital, and Aunt Fair and Liddy and Uncle Will dropped by to check on the patient and bring goodies. Jane Gray spent the rest of the afternoon lounging on the couch, watching the DVD Charles's office sent her, and coloring on the coloring book that Grandpa and Nana gave her. Lots of Jane Gray's sweet friends called to check on her, and she even got a "get well" card from her sweet teacher, Mrs. Pringle!

Lazy Friday night

It was so cold tonight (the temperature fell into the 20's), and after a busy week of school and birthday parties, we decided to hunker down and spend Friday night by the fire. We didn't make s'mores this time, but Jane Gray did enjoy some hot chocolate, and Charlie ate several marshmallows.

Jane Gray's Thanksgiving party

Jane Gray's kindergarten class celebrated Thanksgiving today. They had a Thanksgiving feast and wore their handmade Indian headresses. Jane Gray was "Little Blossom." She had so much fun with her friends, especially her best friend, "Little Snow Leopard" (Kate Kellum)!

Sleeping beauties

I finally pulled out the sleep sack that Aunt Stacy gave Meg so that Meg would stay warm on these cold winter nights. I took this precious picture of her cuddled up with her bunny. When I peeked in on Jane Gray and Charlie, I noticed that they, too, were cuddled up with various toys and stuffed animals. I guess it runs in the family.

Meg's favorite game

Meg loves to play peek-a-boo! It's her favorite game!

Dinosaur museum with Daddy

Since Meg and Eliza are sick with viruses, we had to cancel our trip to Oxford with the Hollingsworths. So, Daddy decided that he would take Jane Gray and Charlie to the "Dinosaur museum," as Charlie affectionately calls the Mississippi Natural Science Museum.
