Beach trip

We spent a long weekend at the Caribe in Orange Beach. We left Jackson Thursday afternoon and came home Sunday night. We woke up Friday morning to blue skies, ate breakfast and blew bubbles on the patio, and then went to the Pier in Gulf Shores. The children loved looking at all of the fish that had been caught. Charlie and Jane Gray even got to hold one! After spending about an hour on the Pier, we went to stick our toes in the very cold ocean water. Charlie and Jane Gray didn't mind the cold at all; they were splashing all in the water. Meg wasn't so sure and clung tightly to Daddy. We strolled up and down the beach collecting some really neat seashells. After the beach, we headed to LuLu's for lunch. We all enjoyed watching the boats and seeing how far we could throw pebbles in the water. After lunch, we went back to Caribe and swam in the indoor pool. Daddy, Jane Gray, and Charlie braved the outdoor Lazy River, at least until Jane Gray fell in. It was pretty cold! We also went to the park for a little while. Jane Gray and Charlie made some friends and played chase. They all also enjoyed the tire swing and pier (where they "shot" the poor seagulls). We spent most of Saturday at the indoor pool with a quick trip to the beach for seashells. We ate lunch at Cobalt. The kids loved the redfish and sting rays there! A very sweet couple from Gulfport even commented on how well behaved the children were - we were so proud! After lunch, we headed to Alvin's Island to play at the arcade and golf course. The kids won some cool prizes - a snake, compass, and toy dolphin. Sunday came too quickly! Before breakfast and our family devotional, Daddy took Jane Gray and Charlie to the beach for an early seashell hunt. Sweet Daddy bought some beautiful shells and laid them out strategically for the kids to find them. Jane Gray and Charlie were so excited!!! Before we headed home, we made the traditional stop to the souvenir store (the one with the big shark - Charlie's favorite). Jane Gray picked out a shell jewelry box, and Charlie chose a stick with an alligator hand on it. We then piled in the car and headed home (after a quick stop to the outlet mall, of course). It was a fun trip!
