Meg's Tea Party

Meg celebrated her sixth birthday with a Heavenly Tea Party.  Charlotte Waller was the hostess, and it was held at the First Baptist Christian Life Center.  The party was easy to find because, as one of our friends put it, there was a Hansel and Gretel-like trail of glitter and pink boa feathers in the hallway leading to the party.  Mrs. Waller does a lovely tea party!  Jane Gray had one when she was in kindergarten, so we wanted to have one for Meg, too.  Meg wore her great grandmother Margaret's gloves and loved every minute of the party.  When we arrived, Mrs. Waller showed Meg all of the stations - nail painting, hair fixing, makeup donning, dress up, and jewelry making.  After the girls arrived and got all dolled up, it was time for the tea party.  Mrs. Waller instructed the girls on proper tea party manners, and the girls were eager listeners!  There were lots of "thank you"s and "yes, ma'am"s when the tea (pink lemonade) was poured and the food (cookies, PB and J sandwiches, and goldfish) were passed.  The girls decorated their cookies with pink icing and sprinkles and then joined in to sing "Happy birthday" to Meg.  The two antique tea cups on top of Meg's pink birthday cake were party favors from Mrs. Waller.  After the tea, the girls played some more and then received pink iced teacup cookies as party favors from Meg.
