Every year, the Sunday before Christmas, the Kindergarten Sunday school class performs a Christmas pageant. Beth Allgood, the class director, gives each child a role to play in the pageant, and then she narrates the Christmas story. Beth chose Jane Gray to play the role of Mary, and Jane Gray took her role as Jesus's mother very seriously. Marian Joseph, who teaches the class its Bible stories, told me that Jane Gray was the best Mary she had ever seen (and Marian has taught children for many years - she even spanked Daddy as a child, though Daddy maintains it was NOT warranted).
