Hanging out with Laurie

Uncle Will and Aunt Nicki let us babysit Laurie last night. Meg loved having a playmate and sharing her toys with Laurie. Mommy tried to get a cute picture of Meg sharing her butterfly, but she missed - in the first picture, Meg has the butterfly and then in the next picture, Laurie has it. Meg and Laurie also enjoyed playing drum on Meg's jack-in-the-box. Meg and Laurie crawled all over the house together - Meg had so much fun showing Laurie around the house. They were really cute together!

Sleepover with the Hursts

Uncle Paul and Aunt Fair are in Oxford, so we're hanging out with the Hurst girls this weekend. Last night, Liddy and Jane Gray went to Mary Clinton's birthday party, and then we headed to Prep to watch Mary Stewart perform and Betsy Baird play basketball. After the game, we came home, ate pizza and s'mores, watched a movie and then went straight to bed (yeah, right!). This morning, we have been playing outside. It is a beautiful, sunny day - perfect for swinging, raking, and jumping in leaves!

Practice makes perfect

Meg is working so hard to learn how to walk - she practices regularly with her walker.

Meg's first year check-up

Mommy and Meg headed to Dr. Phillippi's office this morning for Meg's one year check-up. Meg must have remembered getting shots at the doctor's office in the past because she was not thrilled to be there this morning. She got a good report and is 50th percentile in weight and 90th percentile in height. Meg was not very sweet to Dr. Phillippi, though; she wanted her Mommy!

Jane Gray as Mommy

Jane Gray's class had a dress up day today - she and her classmates were supposed to dress up as what they wanted to be when they grew up. Jane Gray decided that she wanted to be a mommy. So, she wore a favorite pink dress, donned her jewelry and gloves, grabbed a purse, and strolled her baby doll into her class this morning. She was adorable. Her mommy (and daddy) could not be more proud of her!

More birthday fun

Meg's big sister and brother helped her open her birthday gifts. We loved her expression when she opened up her new boots - she thought they were so fancy! Meg worked up an appetite opening her gifts, so we let her eat the cupcake that the Hollingsworths gave her. She was smitten by the clown and loved eating the chocolate icing off the cupcake.

Happy 1st birthday, Meg!

Meg turned one today. She went with Mommy to church for Mommy's Bible study this morning, and Daddy brought home Chick-fil-a for lunch. We sang "happy birthday" again to Meg and had leftover cake for dessert. Meg is loving her birthday!

More birthday party pictures

Here are some more pictures from Meg's birthday dinner. Meg loves her family!

Meg's birthday dinner

Tomorrow, our baby turns one year old. We had a birthday eve dinner party to celebrate Meg's birthday. Everyone came but the Gibsons (they had the stomach virus). The kids had so much fun singing "Happy birthday" to Meg and helping her eat her cake. Meg ate the cake so delicately at first, but when she realized how good it was, she dove right in.

Daddy talks to Jane Gray's class

Jane Gray's class is learning about community helpers, so Mrs. Pringle invited the parents to discuss their jobs with the class. Daddy talked to the class this morning about being an attorney.

Mommy and me

Aunt Nicki invited us to go to the Flowood Library's Mommy and me class with her and Laurie. Meg clung tightly to Mommy during the first song, but after that, she was off to the races. She made herself right at home on the Mommy and me mat. She sang some cute songs, read books, and played with balls. She was exhausted by the time the class was over!

Meg and her walker

Meg thought it best to watch Charlie playing outside from the warmth and comfort of the sunroom. She loved watching him from her window and talking and waving to him. Charlie was sweet to wave back to her. Meg also enjoyed practicing her walking skills with her walker. Mommy loved how Meg walked while holding her cracker; she's already multi-tasking.

Charlie playing basketball

Charlie may be a baller like his Daddy and Grandaddy Rickey. Emma was guarding him for a while, but he schooled her. Don't worry - he made up with her after the game.
