Heber Springs

We drove through Heber Springs on our way home from Springfield and spent the weekend there with Pop and Sherrie. Sherrie told us to be on the lookout for the rooster on her porch. We were so glad when we found it, and it became one of Meg's favorite things - she loved that rooster! Saturday was very busy, as Pop and Sherrie had lots of outings planned for us. We started the day fishing and then we went to the overlook and viewed the Heber Springs dam, then toured the trout hatchery (the children are waving their arms so that the fish will come to the top of the water - the fish think they are being fed), and then we hiked down to Collins Creek. We went fishing several times more, and rode all over the Red River in Pop's boat (it was foggy on the water because the water was so cold, and the air was so hot). We managed to catch four beautiful trout - one for each of us. We also saw several bald eagles, deer, and even a raccoon, which snuck up on Pop and Sherrie's porch to steal food from the bird feeders.
