Alpine pickup

We were so excited to see Charlie after a month of Camp Alpine!  He ran to greet us and presented his Daddy with a letter.  From a girl!  He and one of Mary Stewart's campers, Mary Frances, had been exchanging letters after the Alpine-Desoto dance.  He was so proud to show his letter to us!  We loved meeting his new friends, too.  Unfortunately, the Cherokees lost, but Charlie told us that he won his age group's Alpine race.  His favorite activity was waterfront and tennis.  His waterfront instructor made a point to introduce himself to us and tell us what a fine young man Charlie is.  His family sat next to Charlie's table, and he said that Charlie was always very sweet to his daughters. That made us feel so good!  From all reports from our friends at camp, Charlie loved Alpine and had "the time of his life!"
