First Dove Hunt

Jane Gray, Charlie and I joined Pop, Uncle Will and everyone else at the Harris's old sunflower field for a second day dove hunt. The birds were a little slow to start, but that did not dissuade our fun. Jane Gray and Charlie found a great tree to climb, a thorn tree that intrigued them, visited with Pop, drank Sprite and ate snacks. Eventually, they were able to put their retriever instincts to work as the best 'dogs' in the field. Charlie was a little disappointed that Will's dog, Josie, was so fast and beat him on a few retrieves. After the hunt, we went to the party, played with the Hurst girls and ate bar-b-que, chips and dessert.
