We spent our New Year's Eve in Oxford. It was just our family, and it was a sweet time! We ate Chick-fil-a for dinner, watched the Chick-fil-a bowl on TV, and then shot fireworks at midnight (well, midnight EST). It was so fun!

Christmas break hunting
Daddy took Jane Gray and Charlie on several hunting trips to Louise over their school break. It has been very cold, but the children don't seem to mind! They love being outside with their Daddy!

A few of our favorite things
It's always so hard to put up our Christmas decorations because they are so sentimental to us. Here are just a few of our favorite Christmas things....
Grandmother Koon crocheted these Christmas ornaments for Mommy:
This was the Fairs' Christmas tree skirt:
Nana made this angel, and we put it on all of our Christmas trees when Mommy was little:
Great grandmother Genevieve made this ceramic Christmas tree:
Stewbaby and Pop gave Mommy and Daddy this nativity set for our first Christmas:
Stewbaby and Pop brought this windmill home from their trip to Germany:
Nana and Granddaddy Rickey gave Mommy all of these Gail Pittman ornaments when she was a little girl:
Daddy has collected these snowglobes; there is one for every year we have lived in Jackson:
These angels were Margaret and Charles's:
Mommy bought this advent calendar for Daddy in New Orleans when she worked for the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals:
Nana and Grandpa have given us a new Santa Claus each Christmas:
Our Jessie Tree:
Great grandmother Genevieve made these Santa Clauses:
The stockings were made by Grandmother Koon, and the gold Christmas trees donned Daddy's Barbour grandparents' mantel when Daddy was a little boy:
And, last by not least, the leather jingle bells came from the Fairs' home in Louisville, and the red and purple jingle bells were given to Jane Gray and Charlie by Santa Claus at the Governor's Mansion when they were little fellows:

Christmas lunch in Yazoo City
We went to Yazoo City after breakfast. When we arrived, the children opened their stockings and then we sat down for lunch. After lunch, we opened presents. Pop couldn't wait to give Jane Gray her present - a horse! He gave her a feed bucket and note telling her that he was going to have Donogram, the baby of Stewbaby's horse Bonnie Bell, trained for her. Jane Gray and Pop teared up; they were so excited! Pop had cleaned out the barn, set up a horse ring, and had Donogram ready in a horse stall waiting for Jane Gray, so after everyone else had opened their presents, we headed to the barn. Daddy and Jane Gray rode Donogram, and she and they did so well! Charlie and Meg also got to ride her. When it started to get dark, we headed back to the house for a silly string war, playing with Christmas toys, and warming up by the fire. Daddy then gave us a fireworks show before we went home exhausted but very happy.
