Christmas Eve

We spent much of Christmas Eve in Louisville at our Cousin Caroline Fair's funeral. Caroline was only 28, and her death was sudden, so we were all very sad. But, Caroline loved the Lord, and we were happy for her that she spent this Christmas in Heaven. Daddy was a pallbearer, and we spent some time with the Fairs after the funeral at their home. We were, however, able to make it home in time for church with Nana and Grandpa. After church, we went to Pop's Jackson house and ate dinner and opened a couple of presents. Santa Claus called around 8:30, and we rushed home as soon as we hung up with him. When we got home, Daddy read the Christmas story from Luke, and then we did a scavenger hunt for the children's Christmas Eve gift - Christmas pajamas! They were thrilled to discover them hidden in the pillows of the "tickle bed." The children put on their pajamas, prepared the reindeer food, wrote a note to Santa, and put out some cookies and milk for him (Meg happily ate a couple of cookies when her big sister and brother weren't looking). Daddy then read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. The children said good-bye to Thomas before they headed off to bed.
