We picked up Daddy from work and went to the fair today for lunch. The children were so excited. However, as we were walking to Penn's, Charlie tripped on his daddy's foot and fell onto the pavement. He busted his chin pretty badly, so we took him to the Sheriff's Department trailer to have it checked. An ambulance happened to be nearby, so the paramedic looked at Charlie's chin and recommended that we send him to his pediatrician to get stitches in it. Poor Charlie! But, he was such a trooper! We ate lunch (Penn's catfish, chicken, and french fries and roasted corn on a stick) and petted snakes, alligators, and lizards at the Zoo tent. The rides weren't open until 3:00, so we decided we would come back another day to do the rides. Before we left, we got some ice cream, which the kids loved because it was so hot! We went straight to the pediatrician's office from the fair, and Charlie did great! He sat very still and while the doctor was stitching his chin, Charlie told her all about the fair and what he ate and saw. Charlie is definitely "tough as nails!"

All boy! Don't let a few stitches get in the way of good food and good fun!
