Daddy took the afternoon off work, and we headed straight for the zoo, one of our favorite places. It was very hot, so we played in the sprinklers a lot in between our animal sightings. Meg is enjoying the zoo more and more. It is so much fun to see the children so exuberant! One of the zookeepers laughed that Charlie was waving to the giraffe and shouting "Hey, giraffe!" as if the giraffe would give him a shout back. After the zoo, we went to the Apaloosa Horse Championship Show. Jane Gray loved seeing all of the girls dressed up in their sequined outfits. She would pick out her favorite rider, and Daddy would pick out his favorite horse. The funny thing is that Jane Gray's rider and Daddy's horse made the cut every time! Charlie enjoyed the horses, but his favorite was the tractor that dragged the dirt between the classes. After the horse show, we ate dinner at Chick-fil-a and headed to Northpark Mall for the balloon glow, Diamond Rio concert, and fireworks. We parked the Tahoe in the grass, and watched it all from there (other than a couple of trips to get some free balloons and see Diamond Rio up close). Meg loved the fireworks. She was startled by them at first, but by the end of the show, she was pointing at them and laughing. Hopefully, when we see them up close and personal tomorrow night, she will feel the same way!
