Fourth of July

We had Fourth of July lunch at Nana and Grandpa's house. Momma was in town, and the Gibsons came over, too. The kids always love seeing their grandparents and playing with their cousins. After lunch, Nana and Grandpa had their own parade - they piled the kids in their convertible and drove all over Bridgewater. After lunch, the kids napped in the car while we headed to Flowood to swim and play at the Herrings' house with the Pooles and Rutledges. The kids swam until they were all wrinkly, and then we grilled out hot dogs and hamburgers. After dinner, we went to the Jackson Country Club to watch fireworks. We got there a little early, so the kids entertained themselves by playing on the golf course - lots of duck, duck, goose, and chase, and rolling down the grassy hills and even some of our own sparklers. Uncle Will, Aunt Nicki, and Laurie were there, too, and Meg and Laurie had a big time running around together. When it was dark, the fireworks started, and the kids were enamored. After the fireworks, we picked up some ice cream and headed home to finish off the sparklers, take a bath, and crash in the bed!
